The Valley

Looking North into the Flathead Valley Bear Mountain Montana is located in Lakeside, Montana, just six miles south of Kalispell. At every turn, you will find yourself surrounded by the endless possibilities of adventure and the natural serenity that is Northwest Montana.

Flathead Lake

Created by Ice Age glaciers, almost thirty miles long and fifteen miles across at its widest point, Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. The Lake has over 160 miles of shoreline and its glacial water covers nearly two-hundred square miles of Montana – at 300 feet deep, you can be guaranteed a refreshing swim. An ordinary day on Flathead Lake includes every imaginable water sport and incredible fishing. As big as the Lake is, the waters are often incredibly calm and perfect for skiing. If fishing is your game, then Flathead is just what you are looking for: the lake is populated by native Bull and Cutthroat trout, huge Lake trout (Mackinaw), along with Perch and Whitefish.

Lake access for those who do not live on its shores is incredibly hard to come by, however, Bear Mountain lot owners will have the ability to lease a boat slip in Bear Harbour Marina, just minutes from the gates of Bear Mountain.
